PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Testosterone Cypionateis an injectable steroid and is the most used by athletes and bodybuilders. It is part of the endogenous androgens class of drugs. It comes in form of injectable solution and it replaces the natural produced hormone with the artificial one. It has been demonstrated that it increases protein anabolism and decreases protein catabolism. Besides that, it causes retention of potassium, sodium, and nitrogen and decreases urinary excretion of calcium.

THERAPEUTICAL INDICATIONS

Testosterone Cypionate is a steroid indicated for the testosterone replacement therapy in males with low levels of the naturally produced testosterone in the body. The conditions when testosterone cypionate is prescribed are primary hypogonadism and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism.

DOSES AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION

As already mentioned, Testosterone Cypionate comes in form of injectable solution. It usually contains 100ml of testosterone cypionate. It is indicated for use in males with symptoms of deficiency or absence of testosterone; therefore, the doses are set considering the need of hormone, age and weight. Injections should be given deep in the gluteal muscle. Usually, the dose of testosterone cypionate ranges from 50mg to 400mg every two to four weeks. Before maintaining a certain dose, start with a lower dose and increase it until the most suitable one for you. Notice how your body reacts to the administered doses and control them by yourself, considering the expected results and needs.

Inspect the vial well before administering the injection. It should not contain any particles and should not be discolored. Warm the vial and shake it to re-dissolve any crystals that may have formed while unused or stored at lower temperatures than recommended.

SIDE EFFECTS

Testosterone Cypionate may cause side effects. Their intensity and duration depends on how each person reacts to the drug:

• Inflammation and pain at the site of intramuscular injection, which is a very common side effect and that can be alleviated by changing the site of intramuscular injection.
